This year’s International Day of the Midwife (IDM) on 5th May 2025 is being celebrated under the theme of “Midwives: Critical in Every Crisis”. This theme underscores the indispensable role midwives play in crisis preparedness, planning, and response. Whether facing natural disasters, conflicts, or the impacts of climate change, midwives are trusted first responders within their communities, providing essential care and strengthening health systems to be resilient in emergencies.

On the occasion of the International Day of the Midwife, the Nursing and Midwifery Care Research Center extends its heartfelt congratulations to all dedicated midwives around the world — especially to our incredible midwifery colleagues in Iran.
